ProstateGeneID
Hereditary Prostate Cancer Testing
ProstateGeneID is a non-invasive test performed by collecting a simple mouthwash sample. Genetic testing consists of screening for 18 genes to help identify whether a patient has a gene mutation that significantly increases cancer risk. Men with hereditary prostate cancer are born with DNA changes that increase their risk. Understanding risk can help with prevention and treatment. These changes can also be passed from parent to child. Women who inherit these changes may be at increased risk of a cancer diagnosis in the future. The 18 genes tested for in ProstateGeneID are linked to 8 cancer types.
